The New York Daily News reports former Iowa Hawkeye Tyler Sash will be suspended four games because he violated the NFL's PED policy. The News states Sash tested positive for Adderall.
The Giants banged-up secondary took another blow on Tuesday when second-year safety Tyler Sash was suspended for four games for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
Sash, a sixth-round pick out of Iowa in the 2011 draft, claimed in a statement released to the media that he tested positive for Adderall back in March. He said he was taking it legally and “under a doctor’s care for an anxiety condition” to help him with some public-speaking appearances.
Odd comments for several reasons:
- Adderall is a combination of amphetamines, used for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD)
- The drug would make you MORE ANXIOUS
- An athlete may use Adderall if he obtains a therapeutic use exemption, which would be evidence that he has a condition the drug treats
Maybe Sash does have ADHD, didn't pay attention to the drug's uses, nor to the TUE process.
