Found guilty of importing both an anabolic steroid and HGH, Sylvester Stallone issued an apology to his adoring public, and to the upstanding Australian justice system today. Story in the Sydney Daily News.
Movie star Sylvester Stallone has apologized to the public and the justice system for illegally possessing vials of human growth hormone and testosterone in Australia.
His barrister Phillip Boulten, SC, told a Sydney court that during a recent visit Stallone was taking both substances under medical supervision for a medical condition, which was not revealed in court.
Note that Stallone takes these PEDs for a medical condition. Like what? Anemia? AIDS? Muscular Dystrophy? Old age? (we want some too) Also note that Stallone is not some dirt-bag bodybuilder. He has Doctors, West Coast Doctors, behind him all the way:
"This is not some back-alley body builder dealing covertly with some banned substance in some sort of secret way," he said.
"This was a legitimate medical condition being treated by doctors of the top ranking order in the west coast of the United States."
The incident had caused the actor "a great deal of discomfort", Mr Boulten told the Downing Centre Local Court.
"His questioning, the charging, the court process itself has been something that he would never have deliberately decided to expose himself to," he said.
"His apology to the court is an apology in broad terms, meant to convey both to the general public, the community, and to the justice system itself, his regret at having been involved in his possession of the substances, in contravention of Australian laws."
Not only is Rocky an upstanding citizen, he is entirely against illegal drugs. He most likely wants to see Floyd Landis hang. He wants a '*' by Barry Bonds name. He despises Ricky Williams.
Describing the 60-year-old star of the Rambo and Rocky movies as a role model who was highly regarded by millions of people, Mr Boulten said Stallone had a continuing stance against the use of illegal drugs and illegal activities.
Stallone has pleaded guilty to importing a prohibited import - 48 vials of human growth hormone - and to possessing testosterone during a visit to Sydney in February.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran will sentence Stallone on Monday.
We are pretty choked up about this. (and why doesn't he give Adrian some HGH so she looks better in the Caveman-Geico commercial?)
Stallone was not present in court.
