Three former Iowa Hawkeye football players, now in the NFL make weird news, in one day. What is this, the Miami Hurricane program?
(much more after the jump)
First ex-Iowa punter Jason Baker sues a woman about her cat (Indy Star).
The Indiana native is hoping to wrest $2,000 -- and 8 percent interest -- from a former Carmel neighbor for kitty-cat damages to his home's crawl space.
The defendant in his Hamilton County lawsuit, flight attendant Helen Middleton, thinks Baker should just, well, punt.
"These are wild, feral cats, but since I fed them and gave them water . . . he said that I should be responsible," Middleton said today. "I told him you're after the wrong person; you need to go after the builder who never sealed it up properly."
Besides their use of his crawl space as a roomy nest and litter box, Baker also complained of the cats' destruction outdoors: using his tree as a scratching post.
Then former Hawk lineman Jonathan Babineaux, arrested for killing a dog (AOL Sports).
According to Cpl. Darren Moloney of the Gwinnett County Police Department, Babineaux's wife took a dog to an animal emergency center in Gwinnett County on Sunday. The dog later died and the subsequent investigation led to an arrest warrant for Babineaux. According to Moloney, investigators believe Babineaux "somehow had a direct hand in killing the animal."
And the trifecta: Dallas Clark, Colt and ex-Hawk TE was kicked out of a girl's basketball game for getting on the refs (AOL Sports).
Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark seems like a relatively quiet, mild-mannered guy. Sure, there was that time when he got angry about his portrayal in a Madden commercial, but I could understand how he felt about seeing a virtual version of himself getting jacked up. Aside from that, Clark has never caused a fuss.
Until now. Clark was kicked out of a high school girls' basketball game in his native Iowa on Saturday.
Clark, a Livermore native and former Iowa football player, was asked to leave the gymnasium late in the third quarter of the district final game between Twin River Valley of Bode, where Clark attended high school, and Southeast Webster-Grand of Burnside in Burnside, two school officials said Monday.
All 3 played for Coach Kirk Ferentz at the University of Iowa.
Next, Bob Sanders will bite the head off a parrot...
I'll bet Jonathan Babineaux could help Jason Baker with his cat problem.

It's all messed up Tony. The tight end is getting 'kicked' out of a girls basketball game. The punter is trying to blitz his female neighbor in court, and the lineman is killing the girlfriend's dog, not walking her the dog.
Actually I see one common element: women make weak legs.
