Now leading in the 2007 derby for 'Most Creative Excuse, Testing Positive' category is AC Milan striker Marco Borriello. Story here and another risque version here.
Mr. Borriello tested positive for cortisone. He said he 'ingested' it or 'absorbed' it (depending on your version of the truth) from his girlfriend's gynecological creme.
AC Milan striker Marco Borriello is hoping to escape a drugs ban after blaming a test failure on cream he had rubbed on his private parts.
Borriello, 24, tested positive for cortisone after Milan's 2-1 defeat at Roma in November, but he had a novel excuse.
His girlfriend, Argentine model Belen Rodriguez, has taken the blame by saying she had passed an infection on to Borriello, who was treating it with the cortisone cream.
Rodriguez said: 'I advised him to use the ointment but forgot it contained cortisone. Our sex session proved fatal.'
Borriello is all the more desperate to escape a ban as he has been given a handful of games in the Milan first team this year after spending most of the previous five years on loan at other Serie A clubs.
You can read the second excuse above, because it isn't safe for The Nation to post that at work. Here is another opinion, also very NOT Safe.
'Sex session proved 'fatal'. Wow. Is that know as 'snuff'?
The Nation wants the Truth. We can handle the Truth. Believe me, we want to handle the truth.
