New book, old authors. Pierre Ballester and David Walsh, who wrote "L.A. Confidential: The Secrets of Lance Armstrong" in 2004, have written a new book, based on testimony given in a legal dispute between Armstrong and Dallas-based SCA Promotions that had a bonus contract with the cyclist. IOL has the story here.
Paris - A new book which claims to further lift the lid on some of the dirtier secrets of Lance Armstrong's successful cycling career will go on sale in France on Thursday.
The seven-time Tour de France champion is now retired, but a second book by Pierre Ballester and David Walsh - authors of the controversial "LA Confidentiel" two and a half years ago - claims to shed new light on their allegations that Armstrong's feats came through the use of doping products.
Extracts of "LA Officiel", which like the first book has been written only in French, will appear in Thursday's edition of Le Monde newspaper.
--------------------------------------
The new book, "LA Official" evokes the "strategies put in place by the Armstrong 'clan' to preserve intact 'the legend,"' the French daily Le Monde reported Wednesday.
And in a related story, Lance Armstrong has attacked a new book (and here) that accuses him of doping during his cycling career.
AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 18) - Lance Armstrong assailed a new book going on sale in France on Thursday as "another baseless attack" against the seven-time Tour de France champion.
