For whom the bell tolls: Brother of 'Bigger Stronger Faster' filmmaker -- Mike Bell -- dies at 37
Former WWE wrestler, University of Cincinnati football player, steroid user, and featured personality in the movie documentary 'Bigger Stronger Faster' Mike Bell died in New York state on Sunday. Bell's brother Chris, wrote and directed the steroid documentary. Bell was 37. To the Poughkeepsie Journal:
Former pro wrestler Mike Bell, an Arlington High School graduate and Poughkeepsie native, died Sunday afternoon at age 37, the wrestling website Figure Four Online reported late Sunday night.
Bell wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment in the late 1990s and after that, Extreme Championship Wrestling. He performed at Mid-Hudson Civic Center for both promotions.
He was heavily featured in "Bigger, Stronger, Faster," a criticallyacclaimed documentary directed and starring his younger brother Chris, which explored steroid use in sports. The movie had candid interviews with both Bell brothers, as well as their parents, Rosemary and Sheldon and brother Mark.
Mike Bell was a football captain at Arlington and later played on scholarship at the University of Cincinnati.
