Following two very difficult weeks where he testified against his BFF and JF (juicer forever) Roger Clemens , and revealed he used HGH obtained from his father, Andy Pettitte will attempt to clear the air today in a Tampa press conference. Pettitte reports to Yankee spring training camp, not such a happy camper. Reports indicate his Yankee bosses would not be described as happy spring campers for giving Pettitte a huge salary this year, then learning that his involvement in juicing was more extensive than they were led to believe.
TAMPA, FL (KTRK) -- After calling out former teammate Roger Clemens for allegedly using HGH, former Astros pitcher Andy Pettitte plans to talk publicly for the first time about the allegation involving his friend, including his testimony read last week at a congressional hearing. According the Yankees web site, Pettitte, "wants to get his life back to normal," which is why he has decided to hold a press conference, so when it is done, he can concentrate on what he loves to do, and that is playing baseball
He is scheduled to report to Yankees camp today in Tampa. And for the first time, he will talk about his testimony, which many feel was the most damaging to Clemens. Clemens appeared at a congressional hearing last week.
In a deposition Pettitte says Clemens told him he used HGH. Pettitte, himself, has admitted to using HGH, which he says he got from their trainer, Brian McNamee. Pettitte also says McNamee told him Clemens used steroids in 2004.
