Roger Clemens's address on how his vigorous workout lengthened his career in baseball, appears to be grounded by the Texas Baseball coaches next month according to the Houston Chronicle.
The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association will hold an executive meeting on Tuesday, where it is expected they will remove pitcher Roger Clemens as its keynote speaker at next month's convention in Waco.
"Nothing is final, but we will be meeting in regards to the issue," said Brenham head coach Jim Long, who serves as president of the THSBCA. "We would like to talk with Roger, and then decide on a course of action from there."
While a final decision has not been made, Clemens -- who was to speak on Jan. 12 -- has been removed from THSBCA's website, where he was scheduled to speak at 11 a.m.
Clemens, who pitched with the Astros from 2004-06, was part of the Mitchell Report, where it was alleged that he used performance enhancing drugs. The topic of his speech to the THSBCA was "My vigorous workout, how I played so long (in professional baseball)."
The Rocket could address how Winstrol, Anadrol-50, Deca-Durabolin, testosterone, Sustanon 250, and HGH maintain a pitcher's performance at a very high level. Good information for kids. (link to Mitchell Report, which contains the dope on Clemens use of those PEDs)
Late word is that Clemens will address the Texas baseball coaches by phone concerning his speech.
Brenham coach Jim Long, the association's president, said directors have been assured that Clemens will contact them personally before or during their noon meeting today in College Station...
Long has said he would not be surprised if Clemens cancels his appearance, but he said Monday, "I know that Roger is a very passionate person and a heck of a competitor, and I don't know that I can rule anything out. I think he'll look at things and come up with the best solution for our association. He always has in the past."
Long last week said the group wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to Clemens, who through his attorney has denied the allegations...
"He's denied it, and to me, that's his word right now. I'm not going to question the validity of that," Long said. "Roger is going to tell us what he is going to tell us, and if he says (of the allegations), 'Jim, that's all wrong. That's a lie, and I'll tell you why,' then I'll be glad to hear it."
We would all like to hear about it...
