Padres' Mike Cameron suspended for 25 games in 2008
'With Leather' posts about both the Jags' Marcus Stroud and the San Diego Padres' Mike Cameron suspensions. (Nice work. Beat us. :-p Cheaters. )
Padres CF and soon-to-be free agent Mike Cameron will be suspended the first 25 games of next season after his second positive test for a banned stimulant. I'm no sports agent, but I'd wager this probably isn't the guarantor of the multi-year deal Cameron is seeking. In an unexpected twist, Cameron blamed a tainted supplement he took. Damn those supplements!
Cameron is blaming a supplement. From ESPN:
Cameron issued a statement through his agent, saying doctors for the players' association helped him narrow down what triggered the positive test.
"After all of the analysis and testing, I can only conclude that a nutritional supplement I was taking was tainted," he said. "Unfortunately, the actual supplement is gone, and therefore cannot be tested. Without the actual supplement in hand, the rules are clear, and I must accept the suspension."
Players who initially test positive for a stimulant receive counseling. Suspensions begin only with a second positive test.

Was the stimulant he actually tested positive for Adderall, or is that unknown? You mention Adderall above, but the ESPN article doesn't mention this drug specifically, so I wasn't sure where you got Adderall from. Thanks.
