Enhanced Super-Merriman performs for Nike
More interest bubbled-up out there about Nike's ad campaign featuring 'convicted' steroid-user Shawne Merriman. As we pointed out the San Diego Charger LB, who served a 4 games suspension last year when he tested positive for nandrolone, performs superhuman feats apparently due to his Nike spikes. (his strength might be due to something spiking, but not the Nikes)
Today, Adfreak.com picks up on the story.
We wonder if Organon might not start their own ad campaign for Deca-Durabolan, the trade name of
injectable nandrolone? An All-Pro like Merriman would wield some influence in the medical world, one would think. Organon once tried marketing anabolic steroids to third world children for weight gain. With Merriamn on their team, Organon could go big into the anabolic steroid market, although we hear their products are doing quite well without much marketing support.
A commenter at Adfreak thought a good advertisement would involve Merriman, with other juicers like Luis Castillo and Rodney Harrison. Excellent idea.
It would appear the Nike spot used mucho VFX effects. Maybe Michael Mann utilized a facsimile of Madden 2008 software to generate some of the Merriman sets or moves?
We would
lobby for some programmatic control with steroid options in Madden 2008. Perhaps one could choose off-season nandrolone, HGH, or clen to enhance your athlete. The game could include episodes of 'roid rage, torn tendons, and even a drug suspension or two.
How 'bout that realism in Madden?
Leave nothing......especially not traces of nandrolone.
