Australian bodybuilding duo caught with amphetamines. Guess she will have to give back those natural bodybuilding awards.
As noted here in the Australian Herald-Sun a former model who competed in 'natural' bodybuilding contests, and her partner (?in crime) were apprehended with amphetamines. Below is her photo from a story on 'natural' bodybuilding. (You can find plenty of other photos from this link , but I am not going to post them here) From the story:
A FORMER swimsuit model and a bodybuilding magazine coverboy have admitted their part in a drug ring that allegedly distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of amphetamines.
Katy Huettel, who has competed in all-natural bodybuilding contests, pleaded guilty in Newcastle Local Court in NSW yesterday to taking part in the supply of a prohibited drug.
Her former work colleague Simon Rees, who owns a Hamilton bodybuilding supplements store and has appeared on the cover of Australian Ironman magazine, pleaded guilty to an identical charge...
The court heard Rees, 39, and Huettel, 26, were peripheral players in an alleged drug ring bringing $586,000 worth of amphetamines into the Hunter region. The pair were arrested in April.
A tendered police statement said both were heavy users of amphetamines.
Amphetamine is in another class of 'performance enhancing drugs'. Drugs in this class will improve concentration, increase motor-coordination, and enhance alertness. When active these drugs will also decrease appetite (good if you're a body builder), and may decrease fatigue (?increase energy in some).
Side effects are nasty, including tremor, anxiousness, and psychotic symptoms in overdose.
Amphetamines exist the body quickly, which makes them difficult to test. Steroids, of course have longer half-lives in humans.
Not only were these two frauds ('natural' bodybuilding contests) but apparently they were spokes-people for Australian Sports Nutrition. Guess those bodies weren't all natural huh?
Always remember when those enticing ads try to lure you into the latest supplement, or exercise machine, that those bodies were not made by supplements and ab-crunchers, or Bow-flexes. These con-artists have many tricks including implants, and the various drugs that enhance muscles, or decrease fat.
By looking at the photos, it would not be surprising to hear they used some anabolics along the way.

Your site has some pretty far fetched and inflammatory accusations going on. Do you know any bodybuilders? Why in the hell do you think eating less would be beneficial for a bodybuilder. I have been bodybuilding for 5 years and any informed person should know that eating 5 to 6 times daily along with 8 hours of sleep per night is essential to building a proper physique. Amphetamines would deter a person from doing both of these things. Just thought you should know that you are preaching to your cohorts or the naive with articles like this. Anybody properly informed would recognize this for the rhetoric that it is.
From the Nation: They were caught with amphetamines. How is that rhetoric? It doesn't what I think happened or what logic you use, the bodybuilders took the drugs and were caught.
Bodybuilding, is in general, filthy with drugs.

Here Here,
Well said Andrew! As a bodybuilder with over 28yrs exp/knowledge, i see your comments hit a sensitive nerve with some juiced up viewers. I personally know the Duo mentioned, as i live in the area to which they operate. "LOSERS" is the term used for so called Natural athletes associated with them. They are nothing, have nothing, therefore will never be anything!!!
Hypocrites, sounds more like it. He has competed once(local comp). She has competed several times with good results, and the potential to reach national/international level......Shame! Not only have they tarnished their own credibility, but that of the local bodybuilding community.

leave em alone!

Exactly Terry! Leave them right alone.....we don't need scum like this in our sport!

I don't see why everybody is so harsh on them two. I agree they made some questionable moral decisions, and were part of an illegal drug ring, but first of all we should remember that their great-looking physiques are mainly due to long hours of workout, of sweat and pain! I think people who call them "scum" are just jealous. For their part in dealing drugs the penal system is going to make them pay, but they need professional help to kick their addiction, help from a drug treatment center, and beside that, how can the people in a country like USA, which has the highest rate of overwheight / obese people in the world, be so anxious to discredit two gorgeous looking fellow americans?

Hi, this is in deed great post. The art of working on lean mass is not so complicated and demanding as many try to make us believe. Really we all need practical and effective guidelines in order to advance and growth, doesn't matter if goal is getting huge or just toning up a bit. I keep seeing same thing in my gym: those who are not using their mind power to keep up with new experiences and stay closed to anything outside their box - they give up , sooner or later usually sooner :( Therefore I want to emphasise importance of places like you have here. All the best .
